Start | The teacher greets pupils. Teacher asks a pupil to come to the front. Asks him/her to close his/ her eyes. Then teacher asks another pupil to say hello. The pupil with the closed eyes tries to guess who it is. Pupils’ books are closed. Teacher puts up the flashcards, one, at a time, and say the corresponding words. The pupils repeat, chorally and individually. Points to each flashcard in random order. Asks individual pupils to say the word and the rest of the class for verification. | Flashcards 3-6 | |||||
Middle | Pupils’ books are open. Teacher plays the CD. The pupils listen and point to the pictures and repeat the greetings. Teacher plays the CD again pausing after each greeting. The pupils listen and repeat chorally and individually. Ex. 4, p. 6. Draw and say. Teacher reads the words. Asks the pupils to repeat after you. Explains the activity. The pupils draw the family members in space provided. Teacher checks round the classroom, providing any necessary help. The pupils present their family members: This is my mummy. This is my daddy. This is my brother. This is my sister. Ex. 5, p. 6. Sing the Family song! Teacher puts up mummy and daddy flashcards, point to them and say: This is my mummy. This is my daddy. This is my brother. This is my sister. The pupils repeat after the teacher. Follows the same procedure to present the rest of the song. The procedure of working with a song: 1. Play it 2. Discuss the song 3. Teacher explains the song 4. Teacher – class repeat 5. Pupils repeat after a teacher 6. Sing the song all together Ex. 6, p. 7. Let’s listen. Teacher sets the scene by asking the pupils questions about what they can see in the pictures. For example, Who is he? – Liam.
