Nature is one of the broadest concepts. It includes the light of distant stars, vast expanses of the oceans, forests and meadows, roaring waterfalls, etc. The role of nature in the society has always been significant. People are literally dependent on it. At the same time nature depends on people and their behavior too. To lead a normal life people need enough food, air and water. All these components are provided by nature. A lot depends on sufficient sunlight or rains. That’s why people in different parts of the world have different life and weather conditions. Human behavior in its turn defines how successful the balance in the surrounding environment is.

There are so many problems connected with the pollution of nature. If centuries ago, before the technological progress, people could fearlessly drink water from nearby lakes and rivers, today they wonder whether this water is free of harmful chemicals and substances. People supply their houses with various machines to prepare some healthy food. For example, water filters or steamers for preparing vegetables without any preservatives. Those who live at the countryside have a chance to plant their own vegetation and keep domestic animals. As a result they use naturally grown products in their food and homemade milk or eggs.

We understand that nature is under danger today, but we do little to save or preserve it in good shape. The problems concerning nature include:

• extinction of rare animals
• melting of glaciers
• all kinds of pollution
• deforestation, etc.

If we speak about animal extinction we should mention that by the end of this century nearly half of all species might become extinct. This phenomenon happens for many reasons. For example, global climatic changes, natural habitat loss or destruction, overexploitation, unknown diseases, etc. Melting of glaciers is caused by man-made global warming. In fact, it largely influences all living creatures and organisms. Apart from that global warming and glaciers’ melting will most probably lead to the sea-level rise. Pollution problem is rather acute nowadays, as it comes in many forms and totally depends on human activities and their scientific progress. With the growing number of plants there is a growing problem of water pollution, air and heat pollution. And at last deforestationwhich became another cause of animal or plant species’ extinction.

Knowing the above-mentioned problems, their reasons and ways of prevention, in my opinion, people should be more caring towards nature as it directly concerns their well-being and health. If we treat nature accordingly, we can avoid many unwanted effects.
