London city
London is the capital of the UK. It’s political, economic and cultural centre. London is one of the largest cities in the World and the largest city in Europe. London is one of the oldest and the most interesting cities in the world. London was founded by the Romans in 43 AD. It was called Londinium. They built a town on the River Thames.
The Tower of London
The Tower of London was founded by Julius Caesar, In 1066 the Tower was rebuilt by William the Conqueror.
The Tower of London was used as a fortress, a royal palace, a prison and the King’s Zoo. Now it is a museum where we can see the Crown Jewels and a fine collection of armour. The most beautiful building of the Tower is the White Tower.

The Tower Bridge
Construction of the bridge started in 1886 and took 8 years, employing 5 major contractors and 432 construction workers. Two massive piers, containing over 70,000 tons of concrete, were sunk into the river bed to support the construction. Over 11,000 tons of steel provided the framework for the towers and walkways. This was then clad in Cornish granite and Portl a nd stone, both to protect the underlying steelwork and to give the bridge a pleasing appearance.

St. Paul’s Cathedral
St. Paul’s Cathedral is the largest Protestant Church in England. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built St. Paul’s Cathedral in the 17th century. It took Sir Christopher Wren 35 years. It is a beautiful building with many columns and towers. In one of its towers there is one of the largest bells in the world.

W estminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey has more historic associations than any other building in Britain. Westminster Abbey is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. It was founded by Edward the Confessor in 1050. The construction lasted 300 years.
The Palace of Westminster and Big Ben
The Palace of Westminster is among the world’s most famous buildings, or the Houses of Parliament, the seat of the British Parliament. It is the symbol of London. The Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament is famous for its big hour bell, known as “Big Ben”. Big Ben is named after Sir Benjamin Hall. In fact Big Ben is really the name of the bell in the tower, not of the clock

Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square is the geographical centre of London. It is the most beautiful square in London. Trafalgar Square was named in memory of Admiral Nelson’s victory in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The tall Nelson’s Column stands in the middle of the square. Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument. There are two beautiful fountains in the square.
Piccadilly Circus
Piccadilly Circus is a famous road junction and public space of London 's West End in the City of Westminst er , built in 1819 to connect Regent Stree t with the major shopping street of Piccadilly. In this context, a circus, from the Latin word meaning "circle", is a round open space at a street junction.
British Museum
The British Museum is one of the greatest museums of the world. The British Museum is the biggest museum in London. It contains a priceless collection of ancient manuscripts, coins, sculptures, etc. It is famous for its library.
Madam Tussaud’s Waxworks
The famous Waxworks Museum has the models of famous people from pop stars to prime ministers, displays of battles and a Chamber of Horror. It has one of the largest collections of wax models in the world.
Hyde Park
London is very rich in parks and gardens .
Hyde Park is famous for its outdoor entertainments and its Speaker’s Corner.

St. James’s Park, the oldest London park, is very beautiful with its trees and flower beds and view of Buckingham Palace.
