Описание урока по теме : « Animals”
The aim : Speaking about domestic and wild animals.”
The objectives : To develop the skills of communicative competence through different communicative activities.
To encourage real use of language in pair and group work.
To bring up the care to the animals.
At the beginning of the lesson I encourage pupils of saying the words concerning the theme “ animals”. I don't pay attention to the mistakes in pronouncing words.
The next step of the lesson : writing the words with transcriptions at the blackboard .
Here I ask them to repeat the words in chorus and individually.
Task 1. Give the definition of the words which are written on the blackboard.
domestic animals
pet
wild animals
Task 2. Work with the map.
a) talk about animals which live in different continents.
b) Speak about animals which have wings.
Task 3. Reading. “ How the mouse became the first animal in the zodiac “
Before reading.
Activity 1 making predictions.
Read the title of the text. What do you understand? Look at the illustrations for the text. What do you see? What do you think the text will be about?
Activity 2 The kazakh zodiac
Look at the animals from the kazakh zodiac. Which characteristics go with each animal? Which sign were you born under? Do you have the characteristics of your sign?
Activity 3 Vocabulary.
Make sure you understand these words before you begin reading the text.

After reading the text. I give the tasks in order to check up if the pupils understand the text.

At the lesson it is necessary to pay attention to relaxation
Here we may play a game. Foe example “ Face to face” Each player must have a partner and an animal toy. Then the pairs stand in a circle face each other. One player who has no partner is the first and stands in the middle of the circle. He says ' face to face”. “ side by side” or “ back to back” and so on. All the players must do what he says. Suddenly the first commands “ All change”. This means that player must get a new partner and the first tries too. If he gets the partner with the same animal toy, the player who has no partner must go to the middle and continue the game.
During the process of teaching pupils to the foreign language I focus my work on subject pictures, charts.
The pictures can be divided into three groups:
the first group : here a pupil find one or two pictures illustrated together.
The second group: here pupils can find opposite pictures. Comparing pictures can give an opportunity to open the meaning of words. It is used when we study the adverbs, adjectives, prepositions and negative sentences.
The third group comprised pictures of portrait types. They give a chance to make training in learning structures and making discussions on theme “ Family”, “ School”.

Pictures can be used in pair work – making dialogues.

The next technologue is “ Diagram ' or “ Cluster “
We write the key word and add some words coming to our mind. Then pupils make sentences with these words after that they make up a story.
Different level tasks raise the activity of pupils. Each pupil gets a task according their abilities.
Further I concentrate pupils on communicating through the personal questions moving them on the expressing of their thoughts, feelings and emotions.
I give the chart which the pupils must complete in.

I give the chart where one pupil see the animal and the next pupil should guess it by asking only general questions.
The other pupil get a task: Read the description of the animal- he should draw this animal.
The next technologue is Rhyme which help pupils to learn by heart the material easily. During learning the rhyme we pay attention to the pronounciation , developing the habits of well reading. We should follow the next steps:
learning the words beforehand
listening for the first time
checking the understanding of the content
working with difficult words
phonetic drill
making situations for using learned words and phrases
For example: the theme : “ Animals”

There is a little tortoise
he lives in a box.
He swims in the pond
he climbs on the rocks.
He catches the mosquito,
he catches the flea.
He catches the spider,
but he cannot catch me.
“ Kittens”
A kitten with a black nose
sleeps all the day.
A kitten with a white nose
is always glad to play.
A kitten with a pink nose
comes when you call.
But a kitten with a grey nose
I like best of all.
Pupils of intermediate level are taught to write short stories. Task could be different:
to write a story for the teacher, for the class or readers of a magazine. Pupils are given the title or the first pr last line of the story. The main point in writing a good story is to entertain the reader by making the story interesting. There are some aspects on writing a story:
-plan your story before writing.
divide your ideas into paragraphs
use neutral or formal language
give some details about the main characters and when and where the story takes place.
Use a variety of past tenses.
Use adjectives to make your story more vivid.
Use direct speech to make your story more lively.
Make sure you bring your story to a definite end.
Check your story for mistakes.
The next step is project work. It is a very good method for learning English.

All the methods and technologues can be good if we use them in correct place.
Pupils like the non-standard types of lessons as they can show their abilities not being at loss.
